Keratoconus screening guidance to be shared in webina

Tips and guidance on how to screen for keratoconus will be shared in a new BCLA webinar.

Fakhruddin Barodawala FBCLA, a lecturer at SEGi University in Malaysia, will present the webinar, entitled ‘Screening for Keratoconus - Review and Updates’ from 6.30pm on Wednesday, 27 March.

The webinar will cover the different tools that are available for keratoconus detection and highlight the recent advancements in diagnostic technologies, shedding light on their efficacy in early detection and monitoring of keratoconus. 

Fakhruddin, who is actively involved in research within the area of anterior eye and contact lenses, will also discuss about the development and effectiveness of a Placido disc attachment that was judged the winner of the best poster competition during the BCLA Clinical Conference held in Manchester in June 2023.

CPD accreditation has been applied for and is available to all.  In order to receive a CPD certificate of attendance for this webinar, you are required to a) attend the webinar for the full duration; and b) answer all live polling questions.  CPD certificates will be sent via email within 10 days of the event taking place.

Fakhruddin has won several awards and has presented research papers at national and international conferences. His special interests are in contact lenses, dispensing optics, and low vision. He has seen multiple research papers and case reports published in peer-reviewed journals. Fakhruddin, a Fellow of the BCLA, is also an elected as a member of the Board of Directors at IACLE. He also works closely with the Digital Learning Committee of the BCLA.
