Project Executive – BCLA CLEAR™ (presbyopia) [phase two]

The BCLA needs an enthusiastic professional with project/programme experience and an interest in eye health. You will play a key role in delivering the second phase of the latest BCLA CLEAR™ project focusing on presbyopia. This will focus on educational and dissemination resources that will increase the visibility, understanding and adoption of the research. These resources will influence and shape practice for the benefit of presbyopic patient care, globally. Project executive's primary purpose will be to advise on and oversee the creation and distribution of these resources. You will collaborate with the CEO and a working group for the entirety of the project. The work will begin in the last quarter of 2023 and is expected to last until the end of 2024.

Building on the first issue (published in April 2021), BCLA CLEAR™ Presbyopia will be published in a Q1 issue of the BCLA journal ‘Contact Lens and Anterior Eye’ (CLAE) and will feature work from panels of globally-respected experts in the field. It will allow us to draw conclusions and to form a global consensus to support clinicians with what information is supported by evidence; and researchers as to the gaps in current knowledge and to guide industry in what still needs to be achieved.

We have opened a request for proposals for a suitable project executive and encourage anyone with relevant experience and an interest in this important initiative to apply. Further details can be found in the RFP document. A reasonable day rate will be paid. Accurate indications of total time required and the exact end point of the project support are difficult to gauge at this point and will be finalised in consultation with the appointed executive.

The deadline for submissions is 24 September 2023. Please ensure you have referred to the RFP document before submitting your application. Submit your details to the CEO, Luke Stevens-Burt ([email protected]).

You can also contact Luke for an informal discussion about the project and requirements.
