BCLA Clinical Conference & Exhibition
30 May - 1 June 2019, Manchester Central
We are pleased to announce that the call for papers and posters for the BCLA Clinical Conference taking place on 30 May - 1 June 2019 will be opening on 1 September 2018.
CALL FOR SCIENTIFIC PAPERS & POSTERS
The science stream is assessed in the form of abstracts that can be submitted as a poster only or as a paper/poster (allocated by the BCLA Academic Committee). Paper talks are usually 15 minutes or 6 minutes rapid fire. Case reports will be in poster format. Only one abstract can be submitted for each first author. New science and Case Reports will be considered for inclusion in the programme on any topic related to contact lenses and/or the anterior eye.
Please ensure that you have read and understood the submission criteria and guidelines document before submitting an abstract.
All submissions must be made using the online call for papers/posters submission form.
Call for papers opening: 1 September 2018
Pre-screening service: Midnight (GMT) on 23 November 2018
Final Submissions deadline: Midnight (GMT) on 11 January 2019
The BCLA will be offering a pre-screening service for scientific paper/posters and case report entries submitted by Friday 23 November 2018. All entries that ask for pre-screening, will be reviewed once by a member of the BCLA Academic committee, who will provide comments to the first author (please note that all criteria for abstracts must be provided) by 1 December 2018. Addressing the comments will not guarantee acceptance and authors are responsible for re-submitting their final abstract by the final submissions deadline.
Authors will be notified in writing (electronically by email) if their abstract has been accepted for inclusion in the programme as either an oral presentation or a poster by 15 February 2019. The Academic Committee decision is final. Accepted authors (including poster authors) will be expected to register as a delegate for the BCLA Clinical Conference taking place on 30 May - 1 June 2019. Detailed information on how to register will be provided in the acceptance letter.
