Are kids really that tricky? BCLA meeting tackles challenges treating corneal problems in children

The challenges facing optometrists when treating corneal problems in children will come under the microscope during the BCLA’s first meeting of 2017.

Professor Sunil Shah will look at the issues associated with treating young people during a lecture in Marble Arch, London on Wednesday, January 25.

The lecture, entitled ‘Kids - they can't be that difficult can they?’, will offer an overview of corneal problems in children and the challenges faced in dealing with them.

Professor Shah said: “The problems range from all the corneal problems that adults face but in addition the congenital problems that are increasingly diagnosed at an early stage.

“While some of the conditions are rare, some are much more common and with increasing success rates, these children will be seen by their own optometrists for on-going management.”

Delegates attending the evening meeting will receive one CET point (pending approval).

BCLA members can register one non-member guest to attend this event by emailing the guest’s full name, email address and GOC number to [email protected]
