Optometry Tomorrow Highlight – Managing Dry Eye In Contact Lens Patients

Posted February 27, 2016 by Jashan Bahia

In our final conference highlight, we feature a workshop by Sarah Farrant MCOptom, Optometrist, titled “How do you manage dry eye in contact lens patients?”

Sarah will review factors influencing the successful management of contact lens patients suffering with dry eye including those people who may not be able to wear them. She will look at patient’s expectations and how understanding and successfully managing them can influence their experience with contact lenses.

She will also look at the management strategies including finding the right contact lens for patients with dry eye from initial examination, to reviewing lenses and dry eye treatments that they may need. Finally, she will review the aftercare of this group of individuals.

The College of Optometrists and the BCLA have teamed up to offer dedicated contact lens sessions offering contact lens CET points at Optometry Tomorrow 2016 (13-14 March 2016, Birmingham Hilton Metropole). Sarah Farrant's session will offer 1 CET point.
