In
the BCLA lecture at Optrafair in April, Indie Grewal, qualified
Dispensing Optician and Optometrist with 25 year’s experience within the
Optical Industry, will look at how you can expand your contact lens
patient base and convert your current patient base into lenses.
In his lecture he will discuss how eye
care practitioners have a duty to offer and discuss all vision
correction options during the eye examination, including contact
lenses.
In addition, Indie will explore the
relationship between practitioners and patients and the perceived
dynamics within this. He will explain how understanding this dynamic can
help to build a long term relationship and as a consequence your
business.
He will look at the benefits to a
practice in embracing the prescription of contact lenses from a
commercial and best practice perspective to ensure profitability of the
long term contact lens patient. Specific consideration will be given to a
fee structure, specifically splitting fees from product and the
benefit.
Indie will also look at the importance
of understanding the demographics in your area as this can help shape
the focus of a practice. For example, if the population in an area is
young – do you need to consider how to best attract children/teenagers
and presbyopes?
The meeting is free to attend. BCLA members will get preferential access to the BCLA workshops.
