This webinar presents findings from a UK-wide survey exploring contemporary contact lens prescribing practices for children and young people, with a particular focus on the influence of myopia management. The session will explore how paediatric contact lens prescribing has evolved over the past decade, highlighting shifts in clinical practice and practitioner attitudes. Differences in prescribing behaviours between optometrists and contact lens opticians will be discussed, alongside key factors influencing decision-making in paediatric care, including when to prescribe and which lens options are selected. Findings relating to myopia management contact lenses will be presented, together with evidence on the safety of contact lens wear in children and the broader functional and quality-of-life benefits associated with their use. Overall, this session provides a timely insight into how clinical practice is adapting in response to emerging evidence and expanding treatment options. It will be particularly relevant for practitioners involved in, or those interested in, contact lens fitting and myopia management, offering an evidence-based overview of current UK practice and key considerations for future clinical decision-making.
